Developed a city-wide multi-family recycling initiative for more than 1,500 dwelling units. Opportunities assessed through evaluation, stakeholder engagement, research driven concepts, as well as regional practice reviews. Program has addressed potential for apartment complex owners and tenants to divert nearly 35-tons of waste going to landfills by adopting a recycling program. Successful development and implementation of a multi-family recycling imitative will provide untapped revenue channels for the City program, reduce litter and stream pollution in communities, and result in new relationships in the community to build on other sustainability efforts.

Further, acted as the Program Manager for the White House National Microbiome Initiative, a $521 million multi-sector, cross-disciplinary initiative aimed at fostering the collaboration of research, funding, and efforts to elucidate basic knowledge of microbiomes across ecosystems. Developed policy, and garnered support from public and private organizations to support new platform technologies, research, workforce and citizen science.

Participated in the communication and development of an interagency effort to develop new policies and regulations that guide the Federal workforce in addressing implicit bias, discrimination, and other unfair inclusivity issues. Aided in the authorship of the final agency report “Reducing the Impact of Bias in the STEM Workforce: Strengthening Excellence and Innovation.”

Assisted with reviewing and enforcing the policy set forth in the “Increasing Access to the Results of Federally Funded Scientific Research” – an effort to ensure that federal agencies abided by new regulations for making federally funded scientific research easily accessible to the public. This required working with all Federal agencies to develop programs and policies for increasing such access.

Engaged in high-level interagency communication and stakeholder coordination to develop interdisciplinary relationships that fostered programs of public interest. Often these discussions were with agency heads, agency scientists, Office of Management and Budget officials, and various other program experts, too include the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.

Experience organizing high-level events within the White House, Eisenhower Executive Office Complex, such events include the National Microbiome Initiative, Building Partnerships for Suicide Prevention, the White House Water Summit, and many more.

Utilizied analytical skills to interpret complaints and claims made by the Veteran community including garnishments, EEO complaints and tort claims; diligent work habits allowed for proper denial judgment in tort claim, saving the VA $500M from one single claim.

Military Experience - United States Air Force

Security Forces - as a Security Forces member, roles and and duty titles often change; however, there remain indispensable responsibilities across the domains:

Detect, report, and respond to incidents on the installation. Conduct RAMs/searches, secured evidence and enforce UCMJ violations. Implemented anti-robbery/duress procedures, and enforces traffic laws. Provide visible deterrence/armed response for Protection Level resources. Provide police services for base population.

Military Working Dog Handler
Attended intensive 80 day Department of Defense Military Working Dog Handler course at Lackland AFB in becoming a certified MWD Handler. 3 years as a Patrol Explosive Detector Dog Team (PEDD), where mission was to aid the Air Force, Department of Justice, and other sister services worldwide with the ability to detect, deter and detain intruders, and to suppress the use of explosive devices.

Operated as a PEDD team, provided a visible and psychological deterrence to criminals and terrorists.  Continuously selected for US Secret Service missions. Entrusted with the responsibility of securing and safeguarding POTUS, VPOTUS, SENEX, and Foreign Dignitaries.

Base Access Controller & Background Investigator
Certified by the State Bureau of Investigations on Division of Criminal Investigation/National Crime Information Center module for installation security. Investigated personnel for base access through background checks and enhanced ability to ID known criminals. Secured over 8k installation members through background checks, giving added protection to the base. Coordinated with local law enforcement agencies to detect, deter and detain those with warrants. Direct experience collaborating with FEMA in natural disaster work groups in North Carolina.

Law Enforcement & Base Defense
Operate communications equipment, vehicles, intrusion detection equipment, crew-served weapons, and other special purpose equipment. Applied self-aid buddy care, lifesaving procedures, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation, as first responder in accident and disaster scenes. Gained five years of weapons proficiency, and qualifications.

Certified Military Customs Inspector, enforced agricultural compliance by inspecting 16k+ lbs of cargo, and over 400 personnel landing on military installations. Reported and confiscated all contraband discoveries, enforced agricultural compliances.
